London Councils appoints Strategy Director: London's Future

Piali Das Gupta has been appointed Strategy Director: London’s Future at London Councils, the cross-party group representing the 32 London boroughs and the City of London Corporation.

As Strategy Director: London’s Future, Piali will provide strategic leadership at London Councils, working with all the London boroughs and with a particular focus on climate change, transport, housing, regeneration and planning and the economy.

Piali started her career in federal government in Canada, developing policy to tackle homelessness, before moving to the UK, where she has held senior roles including Assistant Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council, Chief of Staff at Surrey County Council and Director of Policy and Communications at the London Borough of Newham.

Piali will be joining London Councils on 18 July.
